  • Comments Thread For: "Tiger" - A Film About More Than Boxing

By Thomas Gerbasi - Pardeep Singh Nagra just wanted to fight. The practicing Sikh from Ontario didn't ask for attention, didn't want special treatment, just the opportunity to step through the ropes and try to fight his way to the Olympics. Boxing officials in Canada didn't want to grant him that opportunity, instead insisting that to fight, he would have to cut off his beard, something they deemed a safety hazard...

I refuse to see it, as it is all politics. Don't care if he is a Sikh, Hindu or whatever, if the rules say no beard, then take up MMA , not boxing. What a crock of ****e this story is, just another one playing the (enter card here) BS. Might be a well acted film with great direction, but not for me. Sick and tired of this ****e

When's a film going to be made regarding the incredible life of Cornish great Bob Fitzsimmons? Wyatt Earp, Bat Masterson, "Judge" Roy Bean & Teddy Roosevelt, he rubbed shoulders with them all & more during his amazing lifetime!

I'm all for freedom of thought, expression, ideas, religion, etc. but if you decide to become a pro boxer and think that the principles of your religion should supersede rules and regulations of a pro sport you want to participate in, you are either incredible naive, ignorant or such a fanatical worshiper that you incorrectly feel that your indoctrinated beliefs take precedent over a totally secular activity.

As a Sikh, i have to say that this is bs. A true sikh doesnt need a beard or a turban. Its in his heart. Sikhism is about serving and helping those in need, and believing that there is only one race, the human race. this extra stuff is very backward and not what religion is truly about.

Is Mickey Rourke transitioning into a cartoon? I'm sorry I mean Cartoon-American.
