Eduardo Hernandez signs with Golden Boy

    From ESPN Deportes

Mexican promoter Oswaldo Küchle revealed that he has reached an agreement to co-sponsor the career of undefeated Mexican youth Eduardo 'Rocky' Hernández with Golden Boy Promotions, so his debut on American soil is due for February 2019.

Called to an eliminatory fight by the World Boxing Council in the division of the super feathers against the former world champion and also Mexican Francisco 'Bandido' Vargas, 'Rocky' Hernández expected to make the leap in quality in 2019 after making a solid campaign in Mexican territory.

"Starting next February we will be working with 'Rocky' in the United States," said Oswaldo Küchle. "The idea is to work with Golden Boy Promotions and give him the projection he needs before looking for the world championship fight, we are not in a hurry, but we are sure he will demonstrate his quality," added the general director of People's Promotions.

"The agreement is for many fights not only for the February, and we are happy because it is what 'Rocky' wanted, what we wanted. We will hardly give the eliminator with 'Bandido' Vargas but they are going to come very interesting fights for Eduardo and soon they will know ", said the promoter from Juarez.

'Rocky' Hernández, who just turned 21 years old, managed since his debut in 2014 a solid career in the hands of the former world champion and now manager Isaac 'Tortas' Bustos, with a mark so far of 27-0 and 24 knockouts . His most audible triumph so far was a knockout in two rounds against former champion Victor 'Viking' Terrazas.

Hernandez also has a great run of 21 knockouts that led him to place himself as one of the first classified at 130 pounds by the World Boxing Council and to be called to the tie with Francisco Vargas; nevertheless, the name of Vargas arose to go with the world champions Miguel Berchelt, in the World Boxing Council. or Alberto Machado, in the World Boxing Association.

There was a bidding war with hearn trying to sign him too but now with both Golden boy and Hearn on DAZN why the phuk would you sign with Hearn over Golden Boy if you a US or Mexican fighter? Golden Boy who are better promoters especially in the US and have a proven track record building stars in the US. Hearn was having trouble signing top fighters to Matchroom USA already now that Golden Boy has their own TV deal with DAZN it will be even harder this is the first stud they were in on and lost out to Golden boy.

I really don't know how Hearn is going to fill all those US dates he has with his roster. He tried to steal haymon fighters away from PBC that didn't work and any top free agent or co-promoter can either try and sign their own deal directly with DAZN or just sign with Golden Boy they don't need to sign with Hearn to get on DAZN.

Nice pickup by GBP. GBP is great at arranging these US promotional right deals with Mexican fighters.
