If Golden Boy had their way the Trout fight would not have happened. Trout was coming off getting a decision in Madison Square Garden against Cotto and a loss would have ended the possibility of a Mayweather Mega fight. Canelo forced their hand and took the risk. Can’t hate on Canelo for that. He has taken several high risk low reward fights.Comment

LMAO this canelo **** is getting out of hand, his quest for greatness, wtf, well with the likes of adalaide byrd, sulaiman, golden balls himself hes got a good start anyway!!!!
He gets popped for peds, gets a gift decision first golovkin fight (chased around the ring by an old guy all night if u like), does better next fight but still not enough to take the belts (draw imo) and now he's going for a paper title in his 3rd weight class.
I think canelo is a very good fighter but lets be honest, he couldnt even separate himself from a mid 30's and beyond golovkin, thats a fact, in fact he was worse than him and by at least 2 rounds first fight, thats good but not greatComment

Yeah it was around round 4. I just remember looking over and seeing the expressions on Laras face and his team spending all the rounds on his body while he was grimacing in obvious pain. I have no doubt he pissed blood for weeks after that fight. I know casual fans completely ignore body work but those can be the worst be far...
I scored the 1st fight 7-5 for GGG but I cant give him the 2nd fight when he missed like 700 punches and only threw like 15 body punches (7 landing) and very lil combos. IMO if GGG didnt have such a good jab Canelo would of hurt him even worse, if not TKO'd him.
It was close but Canelo won the fight. He won:
Effective Aggression. Landed shots while avoiding his opponents. Hence having a higher % and turning GGG into Hellen Keller. Throwing wild and missing 700 punches is the OPPOSITE of effective.
Ring Generalship. Canelo held the ring majority of the time and when wanted go toe to toe GGG wanted no part of that. Canelo went where he wanted to and made the bigger man back down.
Defense If I have to explain this one your on the wrong website.
Hard and Clean punches. Hard because he ***N WRECKED GGG's face loke never before while he went clubbing right after the fight. Clean because he had a VERY good connect % especially power punches. Where he landed 40% 58% of the fight and above 30% the rest. Not once did he drop below 30%.
AND he actually thew body punches and way more combos.Last edited by Shadoww702; 11-28-2018, 10:54 AM.Comment

One of the most honest and obviously educated assessments I've read. Very well thought out.LMAO this canelo **** is getting out of hand, his quest for greatness, wtf, well with the likes of adalaide byrd, sulaiman, golden balls himself hes got a good start anyway!!!!

Subtract the body punches from Canelo and Golovkin then then tell me who landed more head shots. Yes I realize body shots count. Like I said before jabs are scoring punches whether an observer wants to acknowledge that it not its up to them. Are jabs as hard as power punches? Depends who is throwing either punch and the effect the punch has. Boxers throwing power punches late in a fight generally don't generate as much power as in the fight early. Now this is just my opinion but a jab doesn't taper off in power as much as a power punch because if the fighter steps into it it takes less energy to throw. To me Canelo appeared to be pushing his punches more than Golovkin in the later rounds Again, I used the Compubox stats, and gave both fighters 2 points for each power punch landed and one point for each jab. Scoring that way by rounds it turned out as I suspected Golovkin won a close fight.I don't agree that Canelo fought when he wanted and was in control of the fight overall. There were plenty of times that Canelo backed off and had to parry Golovkin coming forwards. Anyway it was a great fight. I thought G won when I saw it and later when I reviewed it.Yeah it was around round 4. I think Canelo will take on the toughest fights after the easy picking of Fielding. He must not fight Lemieux, that's too easy. He has to fight Charlo, Jacobs, Saunders, Andrade and perhaps Golovkin again. I think he beat GGG last time but yes, it's fair if you question that decision.Comment
