Comments Thread For: Wilder-Fury Judges From California, Canada and England

LOS ANGELES Tyson Fury and Frank Warren have the neutral group of officials they were assured for his fight against Deontay Wilder. The California State Athletic Commission has approved England's Phil Edwards, the United States' Alejandro Rochin and Canada's Robert Tapper to judge their 12-round fight Saturday night for Wilder's WBC heavyweight title. American Jack Reiss will be the referee for the Showtime Pay-Per-View main event between Wilder (40-0, 39 KOs), of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and Fury (27-0, 19 KOs), of Manchester, England, at Staples Center ($74.99 in HD; 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT).

Jack Reiss is a shill for PBC. This will be a quick controversial stoppage with Fury way ahead in the fight.

Which stoppages of Reiss have been premature that stick out to you?

Phil Edwards is an insurance salesman...in other words, as crooked as they come.

Edwards as only ever judged domestic fights at best? Strange choice for me, would suggest he isn’t likely to be a “homer”. Having said that if this lasts half distance then wilder hasn’t then had a good night anyway

Sounds about right but I think Wilder is going to go after him from the onset. This thing may end up being a quick and vicious knockout in a round or two.
