Beterbiev vs Bivol

Not ignoring facts at all. Standing by them not being “Eastern European.” Willing to bet if they did an ancestry test, they’d have very little “pure Russian” in them.
And the fact that Alaska was Russia, but is now American. Was going to see if there were any boxers born in Alaska around the time that the purchase happened but I’m at work and too busy for that research.
Also what do you mean by eastern Russia? Siberia? Isn’t that western? Where nobody wants to really live? LolComment

I never said a current/living boxer haha. Boxrec is hella useful for showing random ass boxing shows from 100+ years ago. Hell, I found a card from 1915 in a small town north of here. That history has always interested me.
Hawaii would have made more sense though. That was in the 60’s wasn’t it?Last edited by _Rexy_; 11-26-2018, 04:57 AM.Comment

One of the original ancient Olympic sports. The history is fascinating. Especially the different rule sets before Queensbury.
Off topic, but I read the reason fights would go so many rounds was a round would last until a guy was knocked down. So 30 rounds would basically be 15 knockdowns. And they were able to even be assisted up for the ten count (it’s how so many guys would die, they’d be lifted up during the count and thrown back in there)
Sports were originally a way to resolve conflicts I thought. No better way to do that than boxing, wrestling or some sort of martial art. Gets your point across better than shooting hoopsComment

Bivol did not perform well against Pascal, didnt show a killer instinct and at no stage did he look like getting Pascal out of there.
In fact it looked like he was struggling to keep Pascal off him at times (got caught cleanly a few times).
If it was Beterbiev he would have taken Pascal out and if he caught Bivol with the shots Pascal was catching him with then I think Bivol would be in serious trouble.
I'm hoping it was just an off day but time will tell.Comment
