Most fighters get ridiculed for this process.. you reach elite status give us elite fights they used to do that in boxing but because of canelo he’s setting a beta standard along with Joshua scary ass.

Callum Smith. Winner of the recent Super middleweight tournament. Clearly the best 168lber in the world. Charlo isn't even clearly the 3rd best middleweight.

Rematch with Danny Jacobs-Jacobs is more accomplished at 160, they have a history which makes the fight easier to sell.

Those two are definately bigger and better fights.

Billy Joe Saunders- No belt but he was a long time champion and the fact would be huge in England.

no need for excuses... canelo has the best resume among active boxers(except pac) and has just beat down the top dog at MW in his second fight at 160.. right now he has a tune up 3 months after a war with the monster of the division, we will see after that..
