  • Comments Thread For: Bivol Would Move Down To 168 For Canelo, Callum Smith Fights

ATLANTIC CITY, New Jersey Dmitry Bivol wants a light heavyweight title unification fight next more than anything. If he can't entice one of the three other recognized 175-pound champions to fight him, however, the unbeaten Bivol is more than willing to move down to the super middleweight division for a big fight. If Canelo Alvarez beats Rocky Fielding on December 15 to win the WBA world 168-pound title and decides to remain at super middleweight, Bivol would jump at the opportunity to fight the Mexican superstar.

I think Bivol is best suited for 168 it would be easy for him to wreck everybody in the divison.

He seems to want to fight the best. It's a bit too much to ask of Canelo tho...he's just moved up and bivol coming down would be too much size for him right now imo.

Bivol only rehydrated 6 lbs to 181 last night. He could easily make 168

If Bivol can get down to 168 relatively comfortably, he'd be nuts not to.

He's not a big LHW so could see him at SMW. Guys like Callum Smith and Benavidez probably re-hydrate to around his LHW fighting weight so it's not a stretch for him.

He should be too big for Canelo though.

pretty sure that's what Lemieux rehydrates to, and he fights at 160 haha

He has always been able to since day one. There's just far more recognition and money at Light-Heavyweight.

Wish they would get rid of that SMW division.

                LMW - 155
                MW - 165
                LHW - 175

That would make a lot more sense to me.

so..... Bivol is not an entitled bltch, who expects a SUPERSTAR to hand him an obvious advantage..... wow, how refreshing

that is the behavior of a true champion who REALLY wants a big drama show
