Kabayel would be a joke but Helenius makes sense as tune up.

Ah I don’t think it’s that bad, he’s a top 20 heavyweight, has a win over Chisora, European champion, think he’s in the WBC’s top ten. I’d expect Usyk to go straight through him, but as a first pro heavyweight fight I don’t think it’s terrible.

Better opponents out there of course.

I think he should jump right in against lower top ten competition. Back in the day we didn't even have a cruiserweight division, so they went right to heavy after LHW.

Any of the five guys Hearn mentioned would be good. I noticed he mentioned Ortiz last, and no surprise there. He won't put any of his guys against Ortiz until Luis hits 40.

You underestimate Usyk my friend. Usyk would humiliate and stop him in mid rounds. I am from Germany myself and boxers here are awful. They are so easy to beat because no decent trainers here.

How's that make sense when kabayel is higher ranked and more active/relevant/rated atm. Helenius is entirely irrelevant in the hw scene atm

Big Daddy Brown just had a big win...why not throw him in the mix?

We have to be careful when we throw names around! We're comparing Usyk to Holyfield before his first fight at HW? Remember how we were comparing GGG to B-Hop just a few months ago? I think Usyk should start with Povetkin or Charles Martin!

Usyk has a window to use his WBO mandatory status to line up Joshua. And he is known amongst UK casuals because he fought Bellew (smart move calling him out and the atmosphere in Manchester was nuts). He fights a plodder like Chisora and then AJ and he has 20M£ in the bank.
