To be the best you have to fight the best. That applies to any competitive sport.
Avoiding the best fighters and cherry picking old "has been" fighters who are 6 inches shorter definitely wont earn you "the best" title.Comment

Publicity stunts don't prove anything either weirdo. Quit turning boxing debates into ******ity competitions and have Beyonce get in the ring to fight instead of pulling phony media maneuvers. And tell him to tie his shoestrings next time before he gets in the ring. We don't want him to knock his self out. Beating Tyson Fury won't prove he's the best heavyweight either by the way.Comment

You are correct. AJ doesn't care if the whole world knows he fears Wilder. AJ isn't risking his health against Wilder and he couldn't have made it any more clear.
Top four heavies: Wilder, Fury, Ortiz, and Joshua. Only one refuses to face the other top heavyweights.
NEW YORK (AP) — Anthony Joshua was welcomed by applause on the stage. He stood front and center, promoting his Sept. 22 bout against Alexander Povetkin.
Even there, he couldn't escape talk of the heavyweight he isn't fighting.
Someone in the crowd jumped at the opportunity and shouted, "AJ, we want Wilder!"
"Let them train to be a fighter and fight (Deontay) Wilder," Joshua told AP. "It's easy talking about it. It's another thing doing."

It shows Wilder wants to be undisputed champion and to fight the best. Joshua's take on Wilder is if fans want him and Wilder to fight, that the fans should train to fight and to fight Wilder themselves. What is Wilder supposed to say? That he hopes the guy who admits he won't fight Wilder wins? Joshua said he wanted $50 guaranteed and he would sign the contract in less than an hour. Wilder guaranteed AJ $50 million. And then AJ said this...

Wilder wants to fight the best and to be undisputed. AJ is too worried about permanent brain damage to step up to the plate.Comment
