Comments Thread For: Gervonta Davis: I'm Hungry To Return, Mares is Going Down!

Southpaw Gervonta Davis told FightHype.com on Tuesday that will pursue his 12th straight knockout and second defense of his WBA "super" super featherweight crown against three-division champion Abner Mares, who will make his 130-pound debut. The Los Angeles Times' Lance Pugmire indicated February 9 to be the date, and the venue to be in Southern California near Mares' native Los Angeles.

As much as i dislike tank hes gonna destroy abner in less than 5. Abner is tailor made for tank, a pressure volume puncher vs a hard punching counter puncher. I see abner getting KO'd badly.

Would have to agree. Mares is on the decline but should present a decent enough test. I think it ends inside of 7 rounds.

Loma's son is returning against an even smaller guy than him. Wow, Davis is courageous. I guess he isn't "too young" anymore to take fights?

Gervonta has a very tiny brain

The Gervonta of 18-24 months ago was far superior than the shell of Gervonta today. He was rapier-sharp, always in condition, and ambitious. Now... fat, drunk, and lazy. He can blame himself for being ignorant and falling in love with AB. Broner traded hard alcohol for multiple millions long ago.

That liquor now has "Tank" stinking of alcohol in the morning and afternoon hours, robbing him of the desire to rise early and get that road-work in. Stumbling a couple of blocks with blood-shot eyes is not road-work, Brother. Broner could have fought "Money" if he had played his cards right. He had to settle for a series of measly one mil paydays. But hey, he has his cognac, right? He'll pick-up $3 n change vs. PacMan with some chump-change upside.

Gervonta loves to hear AB say ******-shnitzz like "Bro, your back is bigger than mine, now". AB going that on the low route I guess, he caring about another man's back size n all. All the azz-licking Gervonta gets has him thinking he really is a 'tank'. Lol Yeah, he can whup a midget--Mares, but it might be close. Mares is a hundred years old and about 5' 2" on his tip-toes.

Try Loma, you big-backed drunkard. Sober your azzup right quick.

2nd fight in a row for Tank fighting a guy coming up in weight and off of a loss. How in the hell he won the world title by beating Cuellar who hadnt fought in 2 years and never fought at 130 before is beyond me. Just shows the corruption in boxing and how the new generation fighters have it was too easy. This is the exact reason guys like Broner can call himself a 4x champion ffs

I saw a photo of him recently. Did not look like he was a young hungry lion. More like a zoo lion that eats half a cow then takes a nap under a tree.
