Why have ticket sales for Wilder/Fury been so lacklustre? Are the prices too high or is LA just not a fight town?
Because the prices are a lot higher for this fight. But I don't buy the fight will do poor numbers. They will still get 13-14k at Staples. They are just starting to release the upper deck tickets at more reasonable prices and those won't last long. The live gate for this fight will surpass the Ortiz one fairly easily even if there are less tickets sold.

I'm just telling you what their strategy is here. Ticket sales have been slow so far and they are making a big push in these last few weeks. And I am excited about the fight, not enough to buy the PPV but i'll definitely watch it.

          Overwhelming demand...
It would be fair to the readers if articles on this page would be marked with information that Boxing Scene is owned by CBS, who ownes Showtime.

Let me help you the guy with the belt has fought no one of significance so the US public dont warm to him at all. Now the challenger where shall I start, he has been done for Ped use, talks rubbish, has feather punch.

Hearn said earlier a lot of tickets for American fights tend to be sold at the last minute or on the day. Hopefully the reduced tickets will encourage more people to go and watch the fight. I don’t get Americans if I lived over there I’d 100% be at the fight.

Ah that makes sense. The tone of some articles on here have been very biased recently

no Haymon doesn’t. he did for Beyoncé until she sued him to break away. This fight will not sell out. They waited to try to push the more expensive tickets now they are pushing the cheaper tickets with a week and a half left till fight night.

According to Mathew Knowles papers, “representatives of Live Nation suggested to Beyonce or her representatives that [Mathew Knowles] had conspired with one Al Haymon to defraud Beyonce.” Al Haymon is an industry veteran who has worked for many years at Live Nation, promoting the tours of artists such as Lil Wayne and Beyonce’s husband Jay-Z.

Finally, the allegation that Knowles conspired with Haymon to defraud Beyonce is striking, to say the least. One of the most successful R&B promoters of all time, Haymon has a relationship with Live Nation dating back to the early days of concert-promoter consolidation. Under the SFX banner, Live Nation’s previous incarnation acquired 51% of Al Haymon Enterprises in 1999, then made it a controlling interest in 2008, and in April of 2010 acquired the remaining 49% interest, according to SEC filings. Haymon has been active as a promoter within the Live Nation family, listed as co-promoter on Jay-Z tours and recently on Lil Wayne’s “I Am Still Music” tour.

the other problem is LA isn’t a good destination for Brits and Irish. It’s 5 1/2 hours farther than going to NY and isn’t the same type of destination like Vegas that attracts people from the U.K.

They should have just done Mandalay was was their original plan. They would have sold or had the casinos purchase all the expensive tickets and likely would have came close to a sellout with a higher gate.

That’s true LA. Was a strange place to have it especially with no Mexican involvement. NYC or Vegas would of been better for this.
