you're going drastic with your comparisons. The versions of lara and trout that fought canelo weren't that far from the versions that hurd fought. Trout hadn't been stopped by anyone else including either Charlo bro that he's fought and Lara had shown no signs of slow up. Hurd just did a better job of making lara fight than Canelo did. Poorly trained and unmotivated maidana (Pre garcia as his trainer) and super washed up castillo are not accurate comparisons. As far as chrisJohn and Marquez, there was controversy with that win as well so that's another poor comparison. Again, to he original point, if you think Canelo is levels beyond Hurd to the point that he'd beat him easily as was implied, then you're fooling yourself or have an overly inflated sense of Canelo. Canelo has stamina issues and someone like Hurd would carry him fast and really test him down the stretch.

None of my comparisons were poor. They blew a hole in your triangle theory. And exactly how did Hurd “make Lara fight?” I have a hard time believing that a guy as skilled as Lara was “forced” into fighting toe-to-toe with a guy that basically stood there and got tattooed all night. For the sake of argument. Let’s say Lara’s age isn’t catching up him and he’s still capable of boxing and moving for twelve rounds. The only thing Hurd did to “make Lara fight” was make himself such an easy target that Lara fell in with how easy he was to hit and was ****** into a war.

How you figure that? What does ggg do that would be better than Charlo? So you are saying ggg beats Charlo and destroys Hurd? I highly doubt that.

Hurd aka the black Margarito prides himself on absorbing punishment and hoping the opponent gets tired of punching his face. that style would get him slaughtered by both GGG and Canelo. vs Jermell he better tuck his chin in. those shots Lara landed would've been bombs from Jermell.

Very similar to Chavez Jr when he was shrinking down to 160 and walking into the ring a cruiserweight. He walked through everything smaller men threw at him and kept coming. But the second he got in the ring with Fonfara, someone his own size. He learned that his ability to absorb shots wasn’t as invincible as he thought it was. The same will happen to Hurd. Especially against a guy like GGG.
He is an offensive fighter. It comes with the territory.

He does not take "an insane amount of punishment" as you are trying to make.

He is a lot more responsible than he is given credit for and improving.

Once again he is no cutie.

Lara the cutie took a lot more brutal damage than Hurd in their fight.

simple, Hurd came forward in a more aggressive way than Canelo did and was willing to take punches in order to land his own. Canelo was alot more cautious. Watch boxing much?

I did see this summer an IG story of his on the scale and he weighed in the 180lbs if memory serves. He's at 167lbs right now 2 weeks before his next fight, "the weight has been coming off easy" by his own admission. Plus, Hurd seems to be so easy going, he's always smiling and seems to be enjoying what he does.

That being said, I can't hate on Hurd if he makes the weight on friday then he makes the weight on friday (plus being the IBF champ, he's subjected to the saturday morning rehydratation)!
Oh, trust me, i'm not hating on Hurd, I just think he should fight Werlborn, fight Charlo, then go to 160 by next winter!

Hurd is one of those guys you see who can cut massive weight, I tried cutting ten pounds for wrestling and I felt like ****, not eating for a day and my lips and mouth getting dry, this guy can cut like 30 plus pounds and can deal with it, dude has some real mental fortitude.

True Indeed! At some point it catches up (see Kell Brook)!
