Comments Thread For: Arum: Saucedo Showed 'Huge Balls' In 4th Round Versus Lenny Z

Bob Arum admits he thought Alex Saucedo's championship dream was ruined. Saucedo's promoter watched from a ringside seat as Australia's Lenny Zappavigna drilled Saucedo with one punishing punch after another in the fourth round June 30. The undefeated Saucedo seemed well on his way to getting knocked out in his hometown of Oklahoma City.

It was a great show of heart, but a scary lack of defense. Saucedo got hit with lefts, rights, combos, and pot shots. Maurice is more polished than Lenny, it doesn't look good for Saucedo.

Hooker doesnt fight anything like Lenny though, he potshots on the outside. i will be shocked if he goes toe to toe with saucedo...imo what should be more concerning is hooker losing every round to someone like Darleys Perez...

Depending on the ref, he could have been stopped in that round and nobody would have complained.

Perez was a defensive wizard compared to Saucedo. When he did get beat, it was not a systematic breakdown, where he quit trying to dodge and slip. Saucedo walks through and into punches, unless he changed since Zap.
