I'm not even sure about that. Put Conan in a 8-rounder against a tough 2-9-1 journeyman with a good chin and he could very well be in deep waters.

Not all 2-9-1 boxers are complete tomato cans and not all boxers with such a record have similar careers.

You can have two pro boxers with 2-9-1 records. The first one is a bum getting beat by other bums in club fights in South Carolina. The second has ten or fifteen years of experience in Boxing and hundreds of amateur bouts, he can actually fight a little, but has never been protected and lost -but went the distance- mostly against very good prospects (who are obviously on another level than Conan). Are you sure he beats the second one under Boxing rules?

Thats not the typical 2-9-1 guy. And I wouldn't even call a 2-9-1 guy a journeyman. A journeyman usually has a winning record with a lot of L's (high single or double digits usually). At best he's a pre-journeyman who got matched super rough in his 12 fights.

I didn't say all of anything is anything. I'm saying McConor would beat a standard 2-9-1 guy. I'm sure there are some 2-9-1 guys who don't even look like they shoulda won the 2 fights they won & I'm sure their are 2-9-1 guys who fought 9 killers, future title contenders or solid prospects & aren't THAT f#cking bad as their record might suggest.

Don't know why we are discussing the outliers doe. There are outliers in anything I'd assume anyone would know this.

Conan beating a standard 2-9-1 guy is not even a forgone conclusion for me. I'm convinced that a durable boxer who knows his way around a boxing ring with that type of record (not outliers, there are plenty of them) could give him all he can handle. Many high profile mma/ufc fighters have had a pro boxing fight and for most it didn't go too well.

Jorge Masvidal struggled to a majority decision in his debut against a guy who was 1-11-2. Most losses to unbeaten prospects and had gone the distance with Andre Berto and Pawel Wolak. I don't know if he's a "standard" 1-11-2 fighter though.
