Do boxing fans dislike jab first heavyweights?

It seems throughout history the biggest heavyweight stars were not jab first..

Plenty of huge stars at HW had big jabs. Ali and Louis spring to mind

Tyson also had a short jab he would often initiate with.

Tbh, I think its safe to say that many of the best and most well known HWs all had great jabs as initiators?

Even Wlad was super famous outside the States

Your namesake Larry Holmes was beautiful to watch - the best jab in heavyweight history, bar none. I still think he clearly beat Spinks in the rematch and it was fun watching him even in his later years on Tuesday night fights. One of my favorite fights of his in his later years was beating that fat hype job Butterbean. Holmes also had many comedic moments with some of the things he would say in the Tuesday night fights era. Loved him.

Jab first is fine, but if you are a "jab only" fighter, that can get tedious. Wlad became a "jab and grab" fighter in the latter part of his career. No one wants to see that.
