Malignaggi has KOs too. Not as good of a ratio...but he has them. When the competition gets better it becomes both prudent not to and sometimes more difficult to, sit down on your punches.

I get what you're saying, Malignaggi is kind of an extreme example though.

Agreed, but other guys have nothing to fall back on. Fury can box like a mofo and doesn't need to brawl to win fights. Wilder is a good example of someone who couldn't do that, Wilder ain't beating anyone on points.

Roach is not a defense-oriented coach. All he will do is get Fury knocked out earlier in the fight. If he had FMW Sr, I might give it a thought.

I mean what other gameplan could possibly work against Wilder. Take away that right hand bomb and he's got nothing. Way easier said than done since all it takes is one of those to get people outta there.

What I've noticed about Wilder and most of his stoppages is that he usually lands his bomb and the guy on the receiving end is either unconscious or their brain is temporarily disconnected. That windmill sh"t that comes after is most wild sloppy ass punches that either miss or just graze the guy. I noticed it especially in the Ortiz fight.

His boxing is certainly much better than what we have seen from Wilder, but I wouldn't say he can "box like a mofo".
