    Frank Warren BANKRUPT!

    ol' fish eyes

TYSON FURY'S promoter Frank Warren is facing a bankruptcy claim over demands from the taxman, the High Court heard.

Warren, 66, who has acted for Joe Calzaghe, Ricky Hatton and Amir Khan, will be served with a bankruptcy petition on Wednesday.

HMRC lawyers said he had not yet accepted service of the paperwork — but accepted he had been in America promoting Fury’s fight with Deontay Wilder on December 1.

His legal team denied "bad faith" and said talks aimed at a "resolution" were ongoing.

Asking for time, they said: "It’s in HMRC’s interests that Mr Warren makes the best living he can."

The case was adjourned. Warren’s alleged debts were not disclosed.

Warren has been treading water for years, I don't know why he keeps going, his cards are ones nobody cares about.

We need someone to challenge Hearn in the UK but it's going to have to be someone young who can engage "da yoof" with social media and all that.

Everything about Warrens promotions is second rate

It happened before like 5-6 years ago I think. Boxnation is a bust right now because of his deal with BT Sports so he's operating that channel but has no real money coming in there. Why would sponsors want to appear on a dead channel that has a sub paywall. He must be overpaying Tyson Fury big time, I think Fury is getting paid millions to fight 2 bums not on PPV how are they justifying that paycheck?

Frank Warren has worse cards, worse fan experience within the event, worse deal, worse roster and he is not in touch with the new school way of promoting. The guy despised Twitter but only fairly recently adopted its use. Not as many people have BT Sports now compared with Sky as they lost rights to certain leagues here recently. They never were on Sky's level but still seemed like a very solid second option.

Frank is shrewd. He will be wanting to go into Administration so he has time to re-organise the business. it's similar to Chapter 11 in the USA.

it basically protects your business while you sorting out business finances. This isn't new to Frank. i'm sure he's done it before, as a lot of companies do.

it doesn't really mean you're flat broke, it just means you need to get your assets in order, but 95% of this forum wouldn't understand that because they're neck bearded unemployed fatties living at their parents.

Yeah Warren got soft with power. He had no competition and all of a sudden out comes this young good looking brave new promoter with the trump card of Froch in his hands. Showing young fighters that anything can happen and that you are much more in control in your own carreer. Eddie Hearn is the best promoter in the world. I've really not seen a promoter care about his fighters like he care.

Yeah he's gone through this a couple times before, I doubt this is much of a worry to him

I have mixed feelings about Frank because he does have a great eye for domestic trade fights and his shows generally have more of a "hardcore boxing" vibe about them than Matchroom's piss-ups, but he is an absolute dinosaur in some regards and the way he moves his prospects is infuriating at times. I'd love an outfit like Cyclone or a fresh face altogether to be given the BT Sport budget and see what they could do with it
