It's not who you fight but when you fight them and he had many years to make some good fights which he decided to wait till guides were past their prime and that's by Calzaghe's own admission.
what garbage! We ALL age at the same rate you muppet, who should he have faced then? And regarding Hopkins, you need to look at where Hopkins was in terms of who he had recently beaten to judge what JC was up against. Older Hopkins older jones older Calzaghe.
The greatest fighter Wales have ever produced and in the top three in the uk of all time by my reckoning.
Punch volume was extra ordinary, recoupatry power was legend, excellent chin, as disciplined as any and was only ever genuinely floored with a clean punch by Byron Mitchell whom he got off the floor in Cardiff to knock the fack out.
Read the article again and again till you get it.
Clearly, not a boxing fan....just a “fight” fan with ****** things to say.

Calzaghe was an excellent fighter, top class

not sure why he is not more popular ?

I can see why some don't like his style, but he sure was effective

      excellent boxer, and super fit
