Yeah, I been a Marquez fan since the mid 90s. I remember I was like the only Marquez fans on forums way back. I was very fortunate to have been to all his fights starting from 2007 vs. Barrera onwards some from ringside. I also got to hang out with him before the Diaz fight in Houston and saw him in Romanza gym before Pacquaio II. He was incredible up that close clearly a cut above any other fighter I’ve seen in the gym and a really cool guy. Totally down to earth and respectful to everybody.

If he’d have just lost to Pacquaio and then kissed his ass nobody would hate him but because he KO’d him they think he sucks and they hate him. LOL.

I loved Finito too. Every bit as good as Marquez in many ways but obviously never got to mix it at the same level. I was also a big Rafael fan. I was so glad when he beat Austin. I remember being so surprised he beat Too Sharp who I hold in such high regard and considered unbeatable.

All those Romanza gym guys were excellent and had really enjoyable careers. Zaragoza, Chiquita, the late great Gilberto Roman. Nacho is the master.

Morales- Barerra trilogy was better in that it was just a straight up boxing rivalry. Yeah the general consensus was that the first two decisions were opposite of what most people thought. But there wasnt the same level of politics and excuses as there was with pac-jmm.

Pac had loads of excuses, I had bad socks ect. JMM cried he was robbed every fight. Pac cried that JMM was ducking him for not wanting to fight a 5th time. It just got old.

Morales-Barrera just fought each other with that bullcrap and they had a legit rivalry. When they went at each other at the press conferences, it wasnt staged or faked.
