  • When a top boxer wins there is always 2 things that happen

1-Fans get over excited and go over the top

2-Others slam them and get upset because they won for some reason

If a fighter beats a good foe then I think we should appreciate it but not go over the top and say they can beat anyone walking.

But this is what makes these forums interesting and why we keep coming back

Yeah this is what happened with Usyk vs Bellew...but it seems that there are more negative threads about Usyk than positive ones the last few days. Also noticed that it was mainly from the same couple of posters who probably feel threatened that this fighter is now having success for a reason. I have been watching Usyk for a long time but now when he fought a mainstream boxer the casuals first see him and jump on the hate train as some of them also get on the hype train. It has always worked like this.

I don't get the hate for this man I honestly don't but you know, as a fan, I'm enjoying seeing his career progress and the haters can wallow in their own misery all they want.

      Very feel.

The slam crowd is actually the more crappy bunch and I do think they are generally the initiators since I've been on this site.

I'm not sure the board or boxing is served best buy the hater-nut hugging crowd. It may be okay for the ones hear but does it drive in more fans? I see the same people pretty much over and over again.

Ridiculous hype when the fighter did what was expected, which makes zero sense.

Idiots calling everyone that doesn't suck off the fighter and agree with them haters.

What I noticed is that boxing fans have a nice discussion and fighter fans throw shade at each others fighters. Largely if you ignore the blatant idiocy there's some good posts for every big fight like this.

It is clearly more hate. And yeah I clearly believe there is a racial component to it, actually primarily.

Oh and I believed that a lot of people didn't like Mayweather because he was black. It was a combo of black and other things but race played a part. I think he worked it to his advantage economically for sure.

Yeah, he was very smart about it, no doubt. I don't blame him. Laugh at the suckers all the way to the bank.

100% agree with you on this. Mayweather knew that he was hated primarily because he is black and threw in that rags to riches ****iness to the mix. And got him multiple 100 mil paydays cuz fake fans wanted to see him lose.

I actually don't know if the hate for Mayweather was primarily because he was black. Maybe, but it was a bit complex. When I think of the hate being because of being primarily black I think of the pure hate JUST because of someone's skin color. Like the hate Jackie Robinson or someone similar to that. So yes there were those people but more of it was the he's a punk AND he's black. McGregor is a punk but he never gets the same hate that Floyd did.

I don't know but I know that race was clearly part of the Floyd hate factor. It worked for him. Because for being (IMO) such a rather dull performer (I can respect his ability and still say that) it boggled my mind that he could pull off such big PPVs. Also in fairness I don't think anyone was as fortunate to have the names around him at the time.

Skill, luck, race, promotion was a perfect storm IMO. I do believe in the making money there will never be another boxer on his level, so yeah in that respect TBE.
