I agree with not taking a fight just two months after you got knocked down hard and were in a war with a pretty big light heavyweight, but why not just cancel it then? Bivol-Beterbiev is supposed to be the big 175 fight early next year. Now Beterbiev's team just tanked the fight people actually want to see because he couldn't beat a B-level guy without getting dropped, and now they are prioritizing Joe Smith over Dmitry Bivol. What in the actual *****. Just wait for Bivol's fight to be through, that **** is only a month away, then fight BIVOL in February not Joe Smith.

Starting to really dislike Beterbiev. 33, declined the Kovalev fight I think twice, never calls anyone out, never pushed the Adonis fight publicly (neither did Adonis. Typical Al Haymon fighter bull**** but I expected better from Beterbiev. I guess not), now is delaying a Joe Smith fight instead of fighting Bivol. Fans are sick of waiting for this guy and the 175 division in general. It's been 5 years of the top guys not fighting each other except for Kovalev-Ward once Kovalev was past prime. That's it. And 40 year old Stevenson vs a 168 pounder who did worse vs Groves than Callum Smith and did the same vs James Degale as Rogelio Medina. That's it, in 5 years. The most talented division in the sport, also the most dead, boring division.

And that, sadly, is because of boxers like Artur Beterbiev, or at least his team. Im about to jump off the bandwagon real quick if he doesn't unify by the end of May next year.

This is the hurt business, you either fight or dont. He came along late and isnt getting any younger.

I understand the logic but damn, pulling out of the Alvarez vs Fielding card!? That's the biggest show in town right now, might have been worth the risk but that's Beterbums team's call.

It's 2 fking months. That means, 4 months between fights. Stop with the bashing and look at the numbers. I want him to get his ass moving more than anyone but there's nothing wrong or abnormal about what he's doing.

No. Bivol said last month that he doesn't want Beterbiev right now.

I was honestly shocked when they announced his second fight so soon after he was knocked down and hurt. Smart move IMO. His career has been so inactive, one month won't hurt him.

Smart move, Bazooka Joe would’ve likely sent Beterbiev to the moon!

Now a more rested and prepared Beterbiev has a better shot but you can’t count out a huge puncher like Joe Smith as long as his jaw holds up!
