The reason the fight didn't happen is because Arum knew that while both fighters had their vulnerabilities, JuanMa was much more vulnerable but he was also a much bigger draw. Particularly in Puerto Rico and New York.

When it comes to Arum, he's going to take care of the draw more than the non-draw. So he put JuanMa in the protection program, much like he's doing with Jose Ramirez right now.

The problem is that vulnerable fighters eventually get exposed, and they end up losing to big underdogs. That's what happened with JuanMa when he faced Salido.

The fight not happening hurt Gamboa way more than it did JuanMa. Gamboa needed that big name and never got it.

I doubt the fight happens again, cause I'm expecting JuanMa to get KOed by this random Argentine fighter.
