The Mayorga comparison is spot on 100%. Connor managed to get himself a big payday and a fight against Floyd using his mouth. It worked great.

Mayorga, once he was figured out by purist boxers (Corey Spinks in this case) he became open season to everyone. I still can't believe Mayorga beat Vernon Forrest and that is the same reaction I have about Connor. How is he on top of the pyramid in UFC?

I am betting Connor has virtually become the perennial gate keeper at the UFC and will only get the big fights because of his name.

Paulie Malignaggi is a pretty decent commentator and WAS a very skilled boxer at the time he fought Miguel Cotto, all of that has no w gone. He’s bitter and really wouldn’t stand a chance against McGregor in any kind of combat and I think we all know that.
McGregor got held to submission, I would say to Malignaggi to let Conor hold him round the neck to see how long he can go.

Ok Paulie needs to just stfu now. Im glad he was defending boxings honor and all and didnt let team McGregor get away with the sparring clip knockdown debacle but he's far too bitter about McGregor and calling him "irrelevant" of all things is a grossly inaccurate comment. Conor McGregors annoying a$$ is still very relevant even after losing his most recent MMA fight against Nurmagomedov. It will take more than a loss to an undefeated champion, to dim Conors shine.

well said, i hate hearing people talking about mc gregor jumping weight classes as if he invented the thing and hes never fought a true welterweight, just like he was never a real featherweights he spent most of his career fighting smaller guys!! just look at bj penn back in the day fighting lyoto machida (to a decision) to show u what jumping weight classes really is. mc gregor is a fantastic stand up fighter but once the going gets tough and the bully gets bullied he just folds. that neck crank was pathetic, didnt even try to stop the choke just accpeted his faith like so many others could never do.
