He was on point with the thread though and called it. Maybe nervous isn't the right word, but he could tell Floyd was trying to keep his cool even though the press conference and its details were unfolding in a way he wasn't expecting.
Floyd said he was blindsided during the press conference.Comment

Floyd looked happy & when he was quiet its cuz they were speaking Japanese which he doesn't understand. Well if he isn't going to fight then good for him, he is too old to be getting in fights now.He was on point with the thread though and called it. Good call.Cuz Floyd hijacked Mexican fight holidays & now he wants to hijack Japanese fight holidays.
Cuz this isn't gonna be a typical boxing match. There is gonna be some sorta hybrid rules to this fight & a 20lb weight advantage is gonna handicap this enough so Floyd wins or is competitive if he were to lose. Although I do concede Rizin could have entered a deal where they get outplayed & either the fight won't happen at all cuz Floyd won't agree to non-100% boxing rules or Rizin have to begrudgingly accept what Floyd gives them which could be some sh^tty 3 round pure boxing exhibition with a 20lb lighter cat who's never boxed professionally or amateur (as far as I know).
Interesting question that I'm not really sure of the answer to. I don't know if there are some weird rules that could prevent MP from being involved in this fight in Japan.
Its possible Showtime could buy the US rights to this event so they could end up being involved, but I don't think they'll have "favored nation" type status with Floyd for this one since its outside of boxing or potentially outside of boxing depending on what these rules are.
If MP isn't involved its not surprising Ellerbe isn't involved super directly.
Hiding out as always. I'm sure he's been working the behind the scenes sh^t on this deal since it was just being speculated on so he's involved 100%.
Its kinda a weird situation. Dude is in Japan where potentially no one is really on his side. That whole presser was weird as f#ck in general so it all felt a lil surreal & mighta felt surreal for Floyd. Plus there isn't even rules for this fight yet so I can understand some discomfort with this whole situation cuz everyone could look like an ass clown if this fight gets canceled cuz they didn't agree to something. I'm legit curious why they did a presser w/o rules or rounds or anything to begin with. So its possible this whole thing is some weird ass ploy.
Randomly what people don't even know is the B side gots a fight in a week & a half lol. That don't make no f#cking sense to me at all so don't be surprised if some weird sh^t goes down with this whole situation.
My assumption is they were close enough to a deal that they wanted max time to hype this up.
I've been doubling down on some MMA podcasts I listen to & supposedly the Yakuza aren't even as into combat sports they used to be cuz thats a legit thing people are talking about. Randomly apparently Yakuza's are all above board in Japan. Like they got a HQ's & everything. Don't say Yakuza HQ on the building, but everyone knows that these various buildings are where Yakuza meet up & where Yakuza decisions goes down apparently.
I feel like its happening cuz of money more or less. Apparently one of Floyd's kids is big into MMA & some have suggested this could be about that in some way to. I was listening to some Ray Mercer sh^t talking about his 4 or 5 fights outside of boxing & he said his two reasons for going into MMA & kickboxing matches was because of money & cuz his kid loved MMA.Comment
