Stop deflecting exactly what? At what point did I say this match up was good? You think Hurd is going to get major credit for this win or something? This is just to test his repaired shoulder and then fight Charlo in 2019. The thinking probably was to fight a bum to do it...and in this case since we have US/UK main event, might as well find a bum from the UK to beat up on. Nothing more, nothing less. Though the opponent isn't going to bring in any fans, so they could have found someone with at least some what of a bigger name.

Hurd is one of my favorites going - it's an understandable matchup - just don't want to pay to watch him rehab on a PPV...a PPV I want to support but they're making it tough

Pretty much... I think, It's a chance for Hurd to look good while winning in remarkable fashion all the while marketing his skill set to US and UK audiences for his future 2019 matchup

They're essentially killing 3 birds with one stone:

1. Makes sure shoulder is repaired
2. Hurd wins in remarkable fashion
3. Increase his marketability for 2019

But like everything else in NSB, they gotta make it complicated

I ain't got any issue whatsoever with Hurd needing a warm-up fight to test out the shoulder & get rid of any ring rust. I don't think anybody has a problem with that. Just don't put it on a PPV card, that's all.
