I know right?! So many excuses for the lone great white hope of the WBSS smh

I think that left hook Donaire landed to the body made one of Burnett's testicles implode, and shattered his glass heart. It's what happens when Domestic level fighters are sheltered and allowed to duck tough opponents. When they finally get into a dog fight, they usually fold. Burnett had ducked both Tete, and Rodriguez prior to the WBSS ever coming to 118. People should have known he would fold under pressure.

I've been plagued by lower back issues mate, I'm a fitness fanatic and it rears it's head every so often, then settles down again. When it goes, I literally can't do anything for a few days to a week, but 10 days later I'm back training like nothing happened. I've never had the op though, private physios and my doctor just told me to let it heal naturally, which it does eventually.
Pro athletes usually have the op though, which like you said is a long spell out. All depends how much it bothers him.
If you google David Haye's retirement statement, he had a secret operation for a disc that completely wore away, but that's extreme. I've not had an MRI for years, I just hope mine doesn't end up like that!
Usually with prolapsed discs, it's a case of when not if it completely wears away. Like you, I let mine get sorted out by physios for about 10 years, but it was beyond a joke towards the end of that. Every time I had even a slight injury elsewhere it was throwing my back out as well, meaning I was then recovering from 2 injuries instead of 1.
For me it was a case of getting it sorted out while I'm still young enough to enjoy the effects afterwards. I'll never have the same mobility I had before, but lets face it we all lose that with age anyway.

Oh great, sounds like I've got that to look forward to in the future then!
