"A true pressure fighter is rare in this era. Believe it or not Errol Spence may be our best. He’s not short and he has some athleticism so we don’t equate him with pressure. But Spence really understands how to come get you. In the rock, paper, scissors of boxing. A volume pressure guy can overcome the boxer. The reason why fighters shy away from boxers in this era is because they don’t have real pressure games. There are punchers in this era but not too many true pressure guys. BIG difference."

Haven't explained it in these terms, but I've been trying to point to the punch stats to highlight this to people. The guy is UBER active in the ring. He's out punching opponents significantly in every fight. He's averaging like 14 more punches per round than the next guy at WW. With his precision and power, that spells trouble for anybody at that weight.

"You hit the nail on the head with Charlo 160. He is calm under fire. He does take a punch really well. He doesn’t shy away from contact. He holds his ground and he fires back when he’s cracked. He’s not hard to hit but he’s hard to hurt. From what I have seen his chin is more dependable than Jacobs’s.

      ...

I think Charlo vs Jacobs is a great fight. I hope it happens. It’s really hard to pick in my opinion. It may come down to who is ON that night. I do think stylistically Charlo will give Jacobs big problems. But not because of anything you mentioned. Charlo has a real jab. And Jacobs doesn’t defend the jab well. SD was able to jab with Jacobs and really score with it. GGG won the fight with a basically a jab. If Charlo remembers to jab it will be tough on Jacobs because I think Charlo’s jab is faster and he’s taller than both GGG and SD."

Here's another take that I've posted many times here with regard to both fighters.

If you go back watch film on both of the Charlos, the first thing you notice is their poise under heat. They are probably the most patient/poised guys when their opponent is getting off on them (Canelo right there too). A friend asked me about them and I said that both were "violent and patient" with good punching fundamentals.

Jermell got away from this against Trout. He was visibly anxious to get a KO. That was the first time in years I've seen him fight that way. But if you go back to the Jackson or Hatley fights, he's beyond patient and everything he threw looked clean/sharp and dangerous.

Jermall simply doesn't have off nights from what I've seen. He's really sharp at all times. He's just a very focused fighter imo. Patiently waiting to cause harm.

Danny is simply a phenomenal athlete with good boxing pedigree and explosive athleticism. But as Bread pointed out, if you watch his film you see so many defensive lapses and lulls in his fights. He's not a guy who's focused for 12 rounds. It's just not in him imo. Still a danger to anybody.

All I can say is good MB! Dis MF Bread is like the Charles Xavier of Boxing he knows his shiid! I particularly liked the breakdown on the Hagler loss to Leonard some points where brought to light I hadn’t considered! And man that Charlo is a Beast that only Jacobs seems to be willing to aggravate! I hope they get um up!

I can't stand to hear today's fans talk down about a guy like Ezzard Charles. Champions these days pick and choose their opponents on the way to any number of bogus titles. Seasoning and experience against every style...that's why I usually go with guys like Charles over a guy like Adonis Stevenson. I like Stevenson, but he's the very definition of a cherry picker.

Yusuf, just stop. Obviously that’s you writing in and criticizing the bread man and giving corny nicknames to Pacquiao. Bread already schooled you a couple of times now. Why don’t you go back to Victorville with the rest of the valley girls. Before calling Pacquiao “Quackman” you had another cheeseball nickname like “Manny Mouse” or some shut. As far as you entering the ring with Manny, hahahahhaahahaha. My man, Manny would cornhole you. He would make you his biatch. You got man *******. You have a hard time getting out of bed before noon. Manny would toy with you. If he wanted to he could whoop your a$$ and take that white girl that you married.

Ward got away with fouling throughout his career and his victories will always be tainted by his tactics. imo
Even though I'm not a fan, I do admire Ward's work ethic. Andre trained as hard or harder than anyone in boxing. One big edge he had over Kovalev was that he just trained way harder than the Russian.

The Leonard hagler argument is something I've been talking about for years..hagler wore 10oz gloves for hearns and mugabi and he also had 12 rounds fights against those two before he faced Leonard. He only brought that up because he lost to Leonard and if he had walked through ray he never would have brought that up.. Breadman like me knows his stuff on the noble art
