But you ask what changed? HBO Boxing said they were going out of business changed. Also wasn't the World Series going on? I'm sure that combo played into the lower than recent numbers.

There are still 2 other cards left. And what about the Superfly 3 card that got showbox type numbers before they announced they were leaving boxing?

Again isn't HBO's ratings indie tracked? Isn't this some Nielson bs or do they do ratings differently now or something?

Was just too much other things going on in other sports to care about this fight sadly. MLB Baseball World Series, NCAA Football, LeBron James and the Lakers vs the Spurs that at the same time as well.

So I believe those was the ratings SADLY! I think some of us as boxing fans are in denial about how popular one of our favor sports in the U.S. in 2018. The Sport itself is not popular enough for fans to tune in and watch guys they don't know compare to other sports. Lets hope fights on Fox, ESPN, DAZN, Showtime or whatever can change that over the next couple of years because boxing seems to be losing more fans than they're gaining

when push come to shove people would rather save $30-$45 than pay for another 2-3 months of HBO to wait around for that card.

            also

its Christmas time, the kids need their presents.

What more plausible? HBO lying about their numbers to justify a decision they already made? or .5% of HBO usa subscribers cancelled their account? or .2% of their worldwide susbcribers cancelled their account (not sure if they numbers towards boxing ratings).

so .5% cancelled their accounts and they dont necessary had to canelly their account just .5% just couldnt sit down and watch that card and had to miss that card that day for life reasons.

Nielsen Media Research tracks ratings, not HBO.

What exactly changed for the ratings to drop that dramatically?

And the superfly card was announced dramatically low.

I think this is HBO trying to justify them getting out of boxing by fudging the numbers

There's a guy on here, can't remember his name, who has talked about the way HBO fudges their ratings in the past

Jacobs ratings were growing then suddenly they drop below his first HBO fight by over 200k?

                BS
HBO does not determine their ratings, Nielson does

Neither guys were popular and there is probably a bunch of people who don't want to do anything with HBO boxing right now.

Derevy is unknown and the fight wasn't really pushed by HBO like they normally do

They didn't really care about the fight

Or how bout cuz 13.5M people were watching the World f#cking Series?

I don't think this has as much to do with Jacobs or Sergiy or HBO getting out of the business. I think the World Series was this fights biggest problem.
