Porter, Thurman, and Danny Garcia are all doing everything possible to avoid Errol Spence Jr. for as long as humanly possible.

Spence has been calling out Thurman for five years. Thurman kept using the "he hasn't earned it" until Spence broke Brook's face and Thurman beat both Porter and Danny. Instead of a unification with Spence, Thurman retires. The WBC orders Thurman to fight Porter and then Danny in rematches. Thurman stays retired. Thurman finally vacates and the WBC order Porter-Danny. After the fight, Porter said he would fight Spence next. However, the WBC orders Porter-Thurman, even though Thurman hadn't fought forever. So, now with a mandated rematch for his old title, now all of a sudden Thurman wants to come back. As soon as he has a solid excuse to avoid any talk of Spence. And Porter is more than happy to fight Thurman instead of Spence.

Thurman, Porter, and Danny all just want to fight each other over and over again with a tomato can thrown in, in between. Those three will do anything and everything to avoid Spence. If Thurman comes back and beats Porter again, he will fight a complete bum, rematch Danny, and fight another complete bum. And if everyone is still demanding he fight Spence, Thurman will simply retire again. And Porter and Danny will say they are waiting for Thurman to come back, before they even think about Spence.

The lack of great fights at ww is mostly due to Thurman and his deadly fear of Errol Spence.

Recent Interview with Shawn Porter breaking everything down and the REAL REASON why the Spence Jr unification bout is not happening Sooner, sounds like the WBC themselves are holding that up by pulling these Double Eliminators out of their Asses

He did leak Ugas vs Berto in a WBC Final Eliminator for a shot which I think is a solid fight

Thurman won the WBA in 2015, at a time when most of you had no idea who Spence was. Its currently 2018, how exactly has Spence been calling out Thurman for 5 years? And how is it that everybody forgets Thurman was the one trying to get a title fight for years and no one would give him one. Not Malignaggi, not Broner, not Pac, not Porter, not Brook. Maidana agreed to fight Thurman, and then pulled out the fight after he saw video of Thurman fighting. Not a single major welterweight wanted to fight Thurman. He won the title and takes on both DSG and Porter then gets injured, and you think he's scared of Spence? He's requesting a bout against Porter with out a tune up, and you think he's scared of Spence? What a ridiculous assertion. Having said that, I do believe Porter won't fight Spence until he has to. Garcia would probably fight Spence if he doesn't get a shot at another title. Thurman will fight Spence, there's nothing in his history that suggests he wouldn't.

Why face Spence?? Lesser regarded belt that requires a check weigh in and he'll be arguably b-side.

I'd take porter coming back from injury over Spence too...

Not to mention Spence is fighting the almighty crusher of world's coming up from 135 lmao

It isn't a great fight when talking about enhancing resumes, or the best fighting the best, or sorting out divisions, or establishing anything meaningful.

But I enjoyed their first fight a lot, and I reckon the second one will be good too.

Thurman turned down the opportunity to fight Spence for a belt that Floyd was giving up. Demanded $10 million. This was the year before Thurman finally got his belt.

I used to think that Porter was the one guy that would actually jump at the chance to fight Spence, but he is clearly not that guy.

Now he comes up with an idiotic analogy about the NBA Warriors getting to choose their opponent in the NBA finals in a weak attempt to legitimize him not fighting Spence. Wow.

When you win a vacant WBC world championship, you immediately owe two mandatories in a row. That's been the rule for a very long time.

Maybe Spence should vacate his title so he can force a fight with one of the other "top" guys by becoming their mandatories? The way these guys duck and dodge is pathetic. Thurman deserves to be stripped. It has been nearly 2 years now, or will be in the spring. Arthoscopic surgery on his elbow and a bruised hand? 6 months tops.

Yea Porter sees the only 147 champ he got a chance of beating is Thurman though if the old Thurman shows up Porter loses again. Porter knows to stay away from Spence and Crawford. Can't wait for Mikey to step up to 147 like to see him vs a contender like Danny Garcia amir Khan first then fight the real champs Crawford n Spence ( Porter he would beat easily if holds up at 147 hes the divisions worst champ, Thurman is always hurt so never know how he'll come back)
