Comments Thread For: Tony Harrison Reflects on His Roots, Looks Ahead To Charlo

Tony Harrison's Superbad Fitness boxing gym is located on Puritan Street on Detroit's west side, serving as a refuge for inner-city youth from the crime, violence, gangs and drugs which has cost many friends their freedom, if not their lives. "Puritan is a war zone and a struggle every day," said Harrson's first cousin, Graham Hester, who housed Harrison during his senior year of high school at a location where Hester still lives within walking distance of the gym.

Harrison is good but Charlo is better

He's a solid contender at 154 but Charlo might be a bit better than him and his inability to take a shot is going to be his downfall on the world class level but if he can survive the punches he might be able to pull it out

Harrison is a front runner the first 6 rounds he always performs good. The second half of fights when he starts to fatigue he falls apart. The Ishe Smith fight he moved less and paced himself better.

I think the chin issues stem from lack of stamina with Harrison, he takes big shots well early doors before he starts to tire out.

Stamina can be worked on. Chin? It's too bad Emanuel Steward isn't still around.

I just love this guy.....he perspective and how he is trying to work with the community. I hope he is able to make some good money in his career. Great guy. Damn near brought tears to my eyes when he mentioned he had to pull his trophies out of the dumpster....that is ***ed!

Seems like a good dude. I will be attending the card rooting him on. Would love to see Charlo humbled.
