Some of you may not understand this as it is definitely a cultural thing. In the black communities we are raised with a real family vibe and any close friend you have, you call their Mom and Dad 'Uncle and Aunty' the same way you would your blood relatives. Its symbolism that you are "brothers from another mother" and when the bond is that tight you literally look at one another as brothers or cousins even though you are not blood related.

Would any of you climb in the ring and go all out to try and physically harm or KO your brother? Would you try to hurt a man that you are so close to that you call his mom Aunty? Not calling anyone out, im just providing some of you with the perspective of the black community as this is how we are raised. If I call your parents 'Aunt and Uncle so and so' than me and you are considdered family. As soon as Jacobs mentioned that, I got it and understood that they will only fight if and when the stage is so big that they both win (financially) regardless of the outcome.

they grew up together in the amatuers. they probably stayed in the same hotel rooms, went on long ass car rides across country, etc. jacobs grew up without a male figure in his life, he was raised by his grandmother and mom, so i'm sure that boo boo's father had a major and positive influence. they are close friends from all accounts. yeah, one might fight his best friends for a ****load of money, but it'd have to be a for a ****load of money. if you read between the lines he talks about the fight happening in the advent of an "upset." little bit of a strange way to put it, no? in other words, unless this fight - for some unseen reason as neither is a crossover star by any stretch - gets huge, one of us will have to upset a cash cow [golovkin or canelo] for the fight to make sense. that's what i take from this. these two are close enough that they don't want to and won't fight unless it's for a ton of f#ckin money.

i don't blame them, personally. it's not like it's a must have fight that either is ducking. it's one of many fights in a good / very good division.
