he doens't want to fight any top fighters while waiting for his shot. that is clear. its too bad hes not more like ggg who fought lemieux and jacobs while waiting for his shot. this boosted ggg's popularity and put more pressure on canelo to actually make the fight. there is no pressure at all on canelo to fight charlo because no one knows him and canelo will simply drop the belt if pressured in order to fight someone else more popular like eric crumble. waiting around fighting bums could and should backfire on him. he doesnt deserve his shot anyway for beating a crippled man.

Charlo's are allergic to tough opposition. Jermell, who escaped with a gift decision over Vanes is waiting for Hurd to do all the tough fights at 154 before considering a unification and Jermall was flapping his gums until Jacobs put him in his place. Now he's fighting Monroe, who's probably his second best opponent other than a razor thin win over what was left of Trout.

Jermell is a little better due to having more skill whereas Jermall is cannon fodder at 160 probably just waiting for the biggest payday and not interested in answering the fake challenges he put out to Jacobs.
