When will Gassiev and Briedis fight? Or Dorticos vs Briedis?
I'd like to see maybe Tabiti vs Lebedev, and Gassiev vs Briedis, then winners fight. Dorticos could then fight the winner of it all, or fight the winner/loser of either first round matchup except for fighting Gassiev.
Note: I do not consider Tabiti a top cruiserweight, but there is that certain crowd that thinks he will expose Usyk if they ever fight, so it would be nice to get a reality check on how good Tabiti really is vs the top of the division either way. It's that same crowd that said GGG was always a great white hype and that Quillin then Jacobs then Canelo would expose him, that Loma was a great white hype and GRJ then Walters then Rigo would expose him, some said Linares would also, that Kovalev was a great white hype and Stevenson would expose him then Andre Ward, that Pacquiao was a great asian hype adopted by white people because they hate Floyd for being black, and on it goes. Whenever the fight is on an even playing field they seem to be wrong every time, whereas whenever the "white hype" fighter is past his prime fighting a prime top opponent on PEDs in Vegas with both the ref and the judges all against him, the "hype" typically only wins 7-8 rounds out of 12 instead of the normal 12 of 12 or knockout they always got in their primes, then the corrupt judges score the fight against him, and this crowd all celebrates how "the hypejob was exposed just like I said he would be all along."
So based on the fact Gassiev and Briedis are still in their primes, I highly doubt we will get to see Tabiti face either of them, but now Lebedev, that's where it gets interesting because Lebedev is definitely on the decline, so that would be straight out of the Al Haymon playbook to make that fight, except I think he knows this is the rare case where even the past prime foreign fighter is still good enough to win instead of the normal 7-8 rounds vs the prime North American boxer, probably 9 rounds or more out of 12, and that will make it too obvious to rob him, so I expect Haymon to wait to make that fight as well. But I would definitely like to see Tabiti vs the top guys so that we can see who the hypejobs really are in this case, one way or another.
