Comments Thread For: Mikey Garcia Daring To Dream With Errol Spence Test

By Tris Dixon - SO the saying goes, "A good big guy will always beat a good little guy." It is a pretty well tried and tested statement but not always wholly accurate. Yet it is a line worth heeding should you go by the name of Mikey Garcia and if you've been downing the brave juice several litres at a time. Garcia seems to be shaping up for a February bout with Errol Spence in 2019, effectively signalling a leap of two weight classes to fight one of the very best at 147lbs...

Mikey is a very good boxer, much better than Spence. But size matters at this level. If Mikey were to lose, I feel like it won't be a close lose, it'll be one where he's never the same. Where he just gets totally pummeled.

However... He probably seems something in Errol Spence that he can exploit.

I think Garcia hits really hard as evidenced by how cagey Broner became after getting hit. Broner respected Garcia's power which is why Garcia fancies his chances even more against Spence. He probably thinks he is the better boxer and has enough confidence in his abilities. The problem is how he will react when Spence is landing his own shots, those thunderous hits to the mid section. This will be a great fight and I can't wait to watch it. If Garcia goes the distance he earns my respect.

What is this blogger talking about? Mikey calls out many fighters, but never fights them. Why not make an article about that??

I like Mikey, but making a blog post about someone essentially talking shit is ridiculous lol

he does, no question..... and he is real sharp

the guys who are saying that Spence will simply walk through him are wrong

Rios (who sparred both many times) said that Mikey hits harder than Chino

they were sparring when Mikey was at featherweight

I think you pretty much nailed it

it is not about the power, it is about the skills..... you do not need more power..... you just need, enough power

                    we saw that with Mayweather

but Spence is a beast, Mikey would need a real tight gameplan and he would need to deal with some thunder

Spence would rightly be a hot favorite, but that fight is not as bad as people think..... and Mikey obviously sees something

Mikey is P4P #1 if he beats Spence

I am very close to putting my near spotless record on the line and making a big call

                    but, not quite

                    not yet
