and if Charlo beats Golovkin, then he earns that HUGE payday..... which gives him plenty to fight for

what I have heard during Golovkin's entire career, are silly excuses not to fight..... but what I have not heard during Golovkin's entire career, are very many announcements that he is about to participate in a meaningful boxing match

can he beat those guys, or not ?

in your first paragraph, you said that Charlo had done nothing to deserve that payday..... then in your second paragraph, you said that Charlo had done everything to deserve that payday.....

    I'm confused lol

nobody said Canelo runs the WBC, I said that Canelo fights whoever/whenever he wants..... he proved that already when he dumped their belt last time around

    he has other belts btw

stop making silly excuses to justify why Golovkin will duck Charlo
Oh please, put the pom poms away. You said yourself that Charlo hasn't done much and I happen to agree. On the other hand, he must've satisfied some criteria with the WBC to be #1 and thus earn himself a shot.
I have no problem seeing Charlo v GGG, I don't know anyone who would, but I can see realistically why Golovkin might not think it's quiet his time. Long story short, it comes down to money at this stage of his career.
If you genuinely believe that Canelo wields no influence with the WBC then I honestly don't know what to tell you.
As for forcing a rematch, Canelo is currently moving up to 168 and has said he might stay up there, so fighting Charlo may well be for even less than first thought; it might be better to go for Callum Smith, for example.
All in all it's a messy situation as I said previously; your opinion that the WBC have made the best decision is valid but as you acknowledged, Charlo has probably waited long enough for his shot so there's obviously room for disagreement.

...but when it comes to situation when You have to give someone a shot when You established more of a name - Everyone is going to be selfish and look for safer money.
Golovkin says he's frustrated with Boxing being a business - and now He became part of that same problem, corrupted by the system.

If Golovkin doesn't give Charlo a shot, it takes quite a lot from his legacy - not in terms of wins and losses - but legacy of great champion who as long as He was competing - was willing to fight anyone and was all for boxing as a competition and sport, not business.
I've been saying this a while ago. And fans are also guilty of this, they hype up up and comers with thin resumes and bash those who are actually fighting good fighters. And then throw their guy under the bus when he starts talking business.

GGG complained and complained about Martinez, Cotto, Canelo for fighting each other and not him but now he wants no part of the guys who are below him. That's why fighters on the rise need to think long and hard about what they say and what they complain about, because they know damn well that when they get to that position they will do the same thing they're complaining about.

stop making silly excuses to protect your pacifist buddy Lovekin

heard it all before man, for YEARS

if Golovkin aint about that life, and clearly never has been..... then he should retire, and good riddance

Canelo owes him nothing, and he clearly has no intention of earning that payday the old fashioned way

fcuk Golovkin..... fcuk his fans and their terribly low standards and expectations

what hasn't backfired on Golovkin ?

          " anyone from 154-168 "..... horribly backfired

" businessman doe "..... horribly backfired

" Canelo is a bltch for vacating "..... horribly backfired

" stand and fight like a Mexican "..... horribly backfired

Team Backfire should have STFU and taken the fights they avoided

The **** are you on about? How am I supposed to protect any boxer?
My initial point was about the WBC throwing another fight in front of their #1 contender instead of simply granting him his shot.
Your hatred of Golovkin has seen fly over your head.

            Never mind

Golovkin has done nothing to earn another Canelo payday, and neither has Charlo

there is NO REASON WHATSOEVER why they should not fight

              not one

again..... can he beat those guys, or not ?

Charlo and Saunders are tough fights but yes, I think he can win.
I doubt he'd have beaten Ward when that fight was a thing.

We pick holes in Charlo's resume all day, but the fact is he is ranked #1 by the WBC. I can't get my head around a system where you work up to #1 and then have to earn a title shot. Are the rankings that poor? If so, what does that say for the title?

If Canelo's staying at 160 then sure, go ahead and fight Charlo.
If not, does it not make sense to fight the actual WBA champion, who knocked Fielding out in a round, and then invite Canelo to a title match?
Would he not have "earned" it then?
And what exactly has Rocky Fielding done to "earn a lucrative match"? Beat Tyron Zeuge?

Prior to moving up, there was talk of David Lemeuix and no real objection; does beating Gary O'Sullivan earn you a title shot over the WBC#1 contender? Talk about low standards. Or is it a double standard?

yep, Golovkin/Charlo could be a very good fight

Not me Captain. I do understand why a 36 year old boxer might be though.
