Interesting. I'm surprised, I thought for sure he would stick around and try to get a fight with Canelo in a few years. The only Top Rank super welterweight that I can think of is Carlos Adames and he's more of a prospect right now.

That's pretty surprising news imo. Staying with Golden Boy pretty much assures him of a shot at Canelo eventually. Not sure what big fights he could get if he signs with Arum.

That would take him out the sweepstakes for a massive Canelo payday. And what Jr Middleweights and Middleweights does Arum even have? To me you either sign with Golden Boy because all the top 160lbers and belts are with DAZN and you are in line for a eventual Canelo showdown. Or you sign with Haymon because he's got all the 154lbers. ESPN/Top Rank is the worst option for fights and I can't see a big payday down the road looking at their roster. This sounds like a rumor that is floated out there by Arum to the media because I would be shocked if Munguia signs with Top Rank it just makes no sense. Remember there were reports that Munguia only owed Golden Boy 1 fight and was guaranteed to be leaving after the Liam Smith fight. That wasn't true and he extended giving more fight options and landed on the Canelo undercard.

He knows what best for him but outside looking in I have to repeat what people are saying here is I would think the Canelo fight is all but a sure thing with his 10 deal contract if Mungunia just stays with GBP and thats a fight that can be worth 10 million to him? Maybe Arum offered him a path to 10 million easy and ensure him they can work with GBP to make Canelo fight when its time.

Should stay with GBP and join DAZN to be honest. Most of 154 is with Haymon and PBC so he likely will have to move up sooner than he would like to and at 160 most of the Champs are with or Affiliated with Promoters who have deals with DAZN.

Arum and ESPN have absolutely NOTHING for him at 154 and 160 who the hell is he going to fight with them? I think Arum does have Carlos Adames at 154 now but that is about it
