Mikey vs Spence - February 2019

I just learned from a reliable source that Spence - Garcia is happening in February 2019. I think that's a bad idea for Mikey but apparently he wants to make history. Doesn't hurt that it's a money fight but Mikey imo is clearly planning to retire. You don't fight Spence (with Mikey's options) if you not planning an early exit from boxing.

Edit - I see my thread is late, boxinscene already on it, proceed!

Honestly Americans need to boycott any Ppv. There is an opportunity with the likes of espn and DAZN to get away from it, if people pay ridiculous fees they will keep on doing it. Form a collaboration and in the longer term you will all benefit!

ESPN is getting away from it? According to who?? Did Arum not say he is putting Crawford on PPV in 2019? Did he not say the Spence fight only happens on PPV? Where do you think the Mikey vs Lomachenko fight going to take place on?

I don't think it's clear he plans to retire after the Spence fight. He is ambitious enough to want to fight Spence so it's clear he loves boxing and competing. Why would he retired at his young age right after fighting Spence? Win, lose or draw lots of big fights for good money would be available for him.

Boycotts only work if the majority join the boycott. I have never once seen a boycott work in boxing. It always sounds good but it never works. If everybody on this board boycotted a fight it would just be a tiny drop in a huge bucket and the ones putting the fight on would not even notice.

Spence might deliver a career ending beating, he may be either too hurt or too embarrassed to continue. Also Mikey has been semi retired in limbo already. I don't see him having a problem leaving the sport.

Stop with the boycott talk , If you want to pay to watch the best fight do it , if not then don’t its not that hard

All the PBC PPVs are worthy of being PPV though

What fights have DAZn or ESpn put on that are worthy of PPV it’s definitely not a Canelo /Feilding , Vargas /Dulhorme, Crawford /Benevidez

He said boycott like they haven’t had over 20 PPVs in the UK this year.

Imo it's Garcia taking the cowards way out of fighting Loma.
Garcia knows Loma wants him after Pedraza and he must be worried about losing to want to fight Spence instead were he already will have excuses after he looses.
                    Mikey is a coward.
Fight Loma after Commie he's in your own weight class and it's for a unification.
Don't use Spence as the reason why you won't fight Loma.
