NEW YORK Freddie Roach isn't quite sure what to make of the Manny Pacquiao-Adrien Broner fight. Pacquiao's former trainer is certain even a 39-year-old Pacquiao can beat Broner, who's 10 years younger. Beyond that, though, Roach doesn't know why that fight is being arranged. The Philippines' Pacquiao (60-7-2, 39 KOs) and Cincinnati's Broner (33-3-1, 24 KOs, 1 NC) are expected to square off January 19 at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Their 12-round fight for Pacquiao's WBA world welterweight title likely will headline a pay-per-view card.

Broner has great natural ability but is lazy, he doesn't have the hunger or discipline to beat a decent fighter who puts it on him. I'd put my money on Pac by stoppage - possibly Broner quitting on his stool.
May-Pac 2 will then probably end up in Japan, both fighters have been visiting the country recently and can see a market not yet fully tapped (not to mention possible issues with the US tax office). Hearn has been sniffing around that way for the same reasons, I think Arum and Haymon already have assets there.

Don't they both have a poor history of multi-million $ bills with the US Tax office though, with Pac's problems still outstanding?
If it does end up outside of the US for surely Japan's the front-runner along with the mega-bucks of Dubai now they've dipped their toes into the waters of pro boxing?
