Former world champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. has been out of the ring since May 2017, when he was dominated over twelve rounds by Saul "Canelo" Alvarez at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. He is planning to return on December 1, as part of the undercard to the Deontay Wilder vs. Tyson Fury PPV from Staples Center in Los Angeles.
