What's Haymon's thinking in avoiding the press? Does he think the promoter doesn't need to personally hype up a fight?
Why doesn't Haymon grant interviews?

He’s not a promoter. How many advisers do you know that give interviews? Agents? Mangers? There’s not many. I for one am glad he’s one less guy I have to hear from. Because whether it’s ODLH, Shaffer, arum, hearns etc. when ever they speak everyone just calls it bs anyway. So why even waste your time? -

Think for a moment.
What would the benefit to Haymon be really?
Outside of basically Pugmire, Iole, and maybe Coppinger/Magno, most other writers have clear biases that don't let the actual story be told. Maybe Haymon earnestly doesn't see the value in bothering with something that isn't worth the effort.
On top of that, Haymon seems to really try to put his fighters into the forefront.Comment

Haymon does not have to speak if he does not want to. What I wish he did have was a media spokesperson who was reachable by the media. This time of year, every year it feels like they fall off the map. Even Sam Watson disappears. It seems even many of their own fighters get left in the dark. It is weird.Comment
