(A route he didn't have to take) If you wanna talk about going thru hoop, that was GGG trying to secure a fight with Sergio Martinez, Cotto and then Canelo. All of whom he was a mandatory for and that took him how many years? 4? 5?

That belt means nothing to Canelo imho. Title or no title he can take any fight he wants because hes the cash cow of boxing. I honestly think the most likely scenario Canelo Vacates, fights GGG at some point, Charlo gets his shot at the vacant strap against another Centeno heiland level opponent.

The title may have no value to Canelo, it has value to Jermall Charlo, and it has value to PBC/Haymon, with or without Canelo.

He won't have to fight for vacant title though; no different than when Golovkin was interim champion and mandatory challenger, Jermall Charlo will be elevated to full WBC champion.

And his first title defense will likely be in Houston.

At least when GGG fought Monroe, he just won that ESPN tournament. Water is safe now for Charlo after GGG KOd Monroe and BJS dominated him as well. Funny how haters complained about GGG fighting Monroe but now making excuses for Charlo to justify to fight him
