I'll miss HBO, but they know what they're doing.

On to the next tectonic shift in the sport.

    App streaming.

Idk what that really means doe. The problem is HBO quit investing in boxing years ago. The budget had went down for 20 years straight basically if you do some research. That AT&T gotta reduce the budget spin is pure bs. Boxing's budget HAD been trending down. Anyone who's been watching HBO Boxing knows the quality year in year out for 2 f#cking decades was trending down just like their budget. HBO Boxing's roster used to look like the f#cking All Star Game of Boxing back in the 90's.

What came first the chicken or the egg? I'd argue hardcore fans left &/or quit looking at HBO as much for elite level boxing years ago & it mainly became a place for big fights & PPV fights less & less often.

So of course you can't just steer the ship out of the way of the iceberg THAT quick. You need to have been steering away from that iceberg. HBO quit meaning what it meant to boxing long before w/e survey numbers Nelson is talking about. So its not on boxing fans its on HBO for not invested in boxing long ago that made HBO less important to boxing fans I feel like.

****, man - last time I saw Chess on TV was Kasparov - Karpov in the mid 80s... only 4 terrestrial channels on UK TV and they filled one of them with Chess for what felt like weeks. Not that I minded so much at the time, I'm a keen player, but I'm doubting it's gonna do monster ratings in 2018, specially when the internet's perfect for that kinda niche ****.

No Surprise! The Sport Boxing is not popular in the US only Certain BOXERS ARE but you have people on the outside looking in who will try to argue that is not the case and that somehow "Eddie Hearn Will Change That"...Uh No He Won't! This is how boxing always been, fans show up for the BIG FIGHTS every few years but other than that they don't give a sh_t about the sport

Analytically Boxing is not registering well at all in the US particularly with the most important 18-34 Demographic. UFC/MMA have surpassed Boxing as a whole those are just facts, with Mayweather out of the picture the biggest Draws in Combat Sports are MMA Fighters for the most part. McGregor is a way bigger Draw than Canelo right now even with losing recently and it is not even close! That is the Harsh reality that a lot of us Arrogant Boxing fans refuse to Accept McGregor vs Malignaggi in a boxing Match would do better numbers than Canelo vs GGG Sadly

So as been posted for years, HBO Boxing was getting better ratings than Showtime by DEFAULT not because people was actually watching those matches and Nelson basically confirmed that.
