Comments Thread For: Frank Warren: I Thought We Had Deal For Yarde-Monaghan

It is not the biggest secret that we encountered problems in matching Anthony Yarde for this [past Saturday]. We are seeking highly-ranked opponents to give him a real test and we tried to get a number of people to come over and take him on.

I tend to cop a bit of flak for Anthony’s opponents, but it is a team decision
Oh well when you put it like that...

He could have taken the Beterbiev title fight; they struggled to fill that slot before Callum Johnson said yes.
The problem is they want Yarde to be the A side for every fight, when he's still relatively unproven even at domestic level. Surely Johnson's relinquished the British title after his World title shot; why not set that up with Yarde against Buglioni, Burton, or better yet Buatsi?

Interesting quote. So Tunde is the one to blame for the super cautious match-making. Is it because he's not fully confident in his fighter or does he just want to take the path of least resistance to a nice payday? Warren should have enough power to put his foot down though

Another one of Warren's 'we thought we had a deal based upon not having a deal or having agreed anything' fights. And moves straight on to saying Gorman is moving onwards and upwards even though he just rematched a guy with a losing record he'd already KO'd...and got taken the distance.

Couldn't have put it any better.

How about this one Frank... Put Yarde in against someone with a ****ing pulse. Let him get dug out by Burton or Buatsi or anyone worth a damn.

Stick Dubois in with someone who isn't hanging off a bin wagon at work the mounting of the fight in Nathan Gorman and let them Duke it out .

Absolute sham of a promotion. And he had the audacity to consistently accuse others of "conning the fans"

Monoghan is rubbish. I'm not too familiar with all of the top 40 or so; but guys like: Valera, Ngumbu, Shabransky, Rodriguez, Chilemba, Caparello are the sort of opponents needed, not cab drivers. Not chinny guys either; and not Quinlan.

Personally I'd like to see him in with Mehdi Amar next. He's game and seems to be packing absolute granite
