Why do these middles keep losing when they move up?

160 is seen as this loaded division while 168 is laughed at. Yet these top middleweights have all failed?

Brant went from being dominated at 168 by a 39 year old with 3 losses, moving down in weight no less, to a dominant W over a champion at 160. Oh and Braehmer was coming off a 6th round stoppage loss to Cleverly as well.

Chavez Jr. went from a top 2-3 MW to getting a gift win against Brian Vera in their first fight at 168.

Martin Murray went from being a top 5-7 MW to losing to a 35 year old Abraham.

Eubank Jr. went from giving BJS one of his toughest bouts of his career to getting schooled by Groves at 168.

So far only Uzcategui has successfully moved up, but he was understandably too green & drained at 160 (6'2 76.5" reach)

160 to 168 for a while has been known as being one of the hardest jumps in boxing. Not surprised to be honest. The 168 pounders don't seem impressive, but the top ones would give issues to the top MWs. I mean does anyone think Golovkin or Canelo will have a easy time with Smith? Benavidez? Even Zurdo?

Looks like it's Canelos chance to prove this wrong.

Because they are all c-d level fighters. Brant, Chavez jr, and murray, eubanks jr are all journeyman. Terrible way to make a point by bringing up the worst of the division. GGG, JACOBS, Andrade, charlo, dervyachenko would wipe the floor with 168.

How are they journeymen when they're all top 10 fighters? I mean you realize Murata was ranked around 6th right?

I guess that does make sense because 160 is a shyt division.

-ggg just got walked down and his face torn to shreds by a 5'7 career welter/junior middleweight with 0 wins at 160.

-Jacobs has already been crushed by Pirog, but he gets a pass while Fielding who lost to an even better fighter doesn't.

-Andrade couldn't even wipe the floor with 5'7 Culcay at 154, barely edged a decision lol.

-Charlo has 0 relevant wins at 160.

-Derey barely has 12 fights lol.

Who do you think is better right now, Fielding or Jacobs?
and who will have more success against better opposition?

Danny never got a pass on the Pirog loss either, it set him back significantly and he had to rebuild his reputation because many fans felt he would just be KO'd again before long. He can take hard shots from real middleweights and he proved that against Golovkin plus he hasn't been KO'd by anyone else either
