Yeah that was bad. I was cheering on Maloney, and he did great, but as you say, no more than 4 rounds (I actually gave him three).
Even rooting for Maloney, my reaction to the first scorecard (the one for Maloney) was WTF ???
Anyway, the right guy won, but for sure, Maloney made him work for it ! (an understatement).
Thing I noticed early was that Maloney was landing clean lefts quite early. Inoue's main goodnight punch is his left (and cleaning Payano's clock with a right showed his right isn't too bad either). Rodriguez showed some top-level boxing skills, but Inoue has boxing skills too, and I suspect Inoue's power will be the difference in the exchanges when they happen - Inoue's left is fast and damaging, and Rodriguez is open to it.
