I hate Mauricio Suliman because he is a opportunist. If by some miracle, a new cash cow, let's suppose the fighter is african american, appear and KO Canelo, I bet my 7 acres land that Mauricio is going to thrown Canelo aside like Golovkin and other fighters in the past. And begin to praise the new cash cow. Is truth I agree with him about the new deal of Canelo, but I hate that fat slob garbage of human being. Now with my rant get out of the way, I am glad Canelo is using his momentum of his victory to seal a great deal of this magnitude and is beginning to enter a new chapter in his career, making history in a new platform. In my part, congratulations to Canelo, his team and Oscar de la Hoya. I am a boxing fan, not a cheer leader fan like the majority of the people here. While I agree all sanctioning bodies should remain neutral at least in public, and Sulaiman comes off as some one who would do anything to ensure Canelo retains the WBC belt, it is important to note that the fees will not be increased. If anything, WBC stand to make less money from Canelo due to his 2 fights a year. The WBC already have a fixed rate for bouts who's purses go over $1.5 million, which can only be increased by a governing board vote. So put simply, this is just Sulaiman stoking Mexican pride, with disregard for the history of the WBC belt.
