Comments Thread For: Golovkin Undecided, Still Choosing a Television Outlet

Currently Gennady Golovkin is one of the few marquee fighters who isn't currently aligned with a network or streaming platform. For years he was associated with HBO Sports, which announced a few weeks ago that they were getting out of the boxing business in 2019.

ggg should join DAZN and fight Canelo or fight Andrade for a belt.

he won't be getting Canelo type money no matter where he goes that's for sure.

ESPN is the spot for him right now, he would get blitzed by the competition on Showtime, he could squeeze 7 to $10 million out of Arum, plus upside.

He could get $20 million if he goes to Japan

        DAZN:
David Lemuiex, Daniel Jacobs, Demetrius Andrade, Canelo Alvarez

        Showtime:
        Charlo

        ESPN:
        Murata

        DAZN is the clear option!

He ain't getting 20 m from Japan a fight that will do no business in other markets because the time zone. Will air on ESPN Sunday morning like 9am lol he will get paid similar to what he got to fight Brook in the UK. I say 5m max. If he signs long term for future fights on ESPN maybe more but that takes him out the canelo sweepstakes. And there are no fighters on ESPN at 160. He will have to move to 160 and get fed to Ramirez

The myth of Golovkin has been pretty much debunked now and let's face at 36 he ain't getting any younger. I'd be surprised if he has 4 more fights left in him, maybe less if he can't find the old magic.

I'm sure DZNUTS would like to have Golovkin.

He's doing to Hearn for a third fight with Canelo. And he'll go long term because that's the smartest thing to do. One offs will be bad if/when he gets beaten or looks bad or looks old. A Long-term term deal is the best option at 36 years of age.

He's gonna go to ESPN to fight Murata next. After that, we will see.
