Canelo's minimums go down if he loses

This is what I've been saying. Guaranteed contracts often have stipulations written in that allow fighters to choose their opponents, much like Floyd and Cotto. So out of ten or eleven fights he has on contract, we'd be lucky to see three fights that are fan-friendly and competitive, while the rest are journeyman level opponents who get hyped by the PR machines.Comment

If he's getting paid $365 million to fight with no bonuses, then **** it, might as well fight a bum every single time. Especially if that money decreases should he take a loss. Protect your health and protect your money.Comment

We actually agree here. This is what I've been saying. Guaranteed contracts often have stipulations written in that allow fighters to choose their opponents, much like Floyd and Cotto. The deal pretty much guarantees we wont see Canelo in a really competitive fight for the next half a decade should he remain in it until the end.
No way is Oscar going to allow that to happen.
The only sim hope is a sanctioning body growing some gonad and ordering a purse bid that GB somehow loses, forcing Canelo to fight on another network or get stripped...and we already know Canelo has had no problem being stripped before.
Doesn't look good at all...Comment
