Good for Canelo, he understand the meaning of friendship and comradery, and loyal to the ones who help you out, his motto always been "if you help me I'll help you" not like most kids in America once they get a little fame and fortune their ego grows ten fold, Canelo keeps it real, and he understand what Oscar does, and is doing, he is always partnering up with others, hence Hopkins, Mosley, Cotto and now Chuck Liddele, and Tito Ortiz, in his new venture.

Clearly you don't know Shït about friendship and loyalty. Oscar gets you a 365 million deal for yourself, and you still gonna try to screw him over? you probably are one of those who whishes bad karma on GBP and predicted his company would crumble within a couple of years once the massive exodus of fighters to Haymon, but here we are, they still thriving and getting this massive deals.
I hope to god for Canelo's sake none of what you wrote is at all true. Friendship and loyalty gets you nowhere in the business of boxing. Sure, Canelo might be comfortable working with Oscar, but business is business, he took the best deal he could get and good on him.

You know what that friendship and loyalty BS gets you in the business of boxing where you're swimming with the sharks? You get to retire having collected a small percentage of your earnings while Bob Arum buy another yacht.

Oscar is a smart business man, he likely has given good advice to Canelo. And he's certainly promoted Canelo very well. But business is business.

You guys are bitter as ****
Oscar did explicitly say he's not working with Hearn he's working directly with DAZN.

      • Good for Canelo. Will be interesting to see what happens with this whole ESPN vs. Showtime/FOX vs. DAZN thing.

Hypothetically, if in Canelo's first fight he got KO'd by Rocky Fking Fielding the boxing world might collectively stroke out and die.
From what point of view? Well I'm sure even off the first fight they will have a massive increase in there subscriber base, so not ideal if that happened but not the end of the world either. Not all those subscribers are gonna think 'Canelo got knocked out so I'm going to cancel"

DAZN aren't going to think we need to drop this guy now, the rematch would probably bring even more subscribers. Plus I don't think they are putting all there eggs in one basket. They have a good sustainable subscriber base already, especially in Japan, Germany and Canada. Which is why they are able to throw money at boxing, they have Joshua, Usyk and the Matchroom shows.

Canelo will take a loss at some point in this contract, his general level of competition will ensure that imo.

You have a ton of classic Canelo fights in addition to Oscar De La Hoya, Hopkins, Mosley, and Floyd Mayweather fights. People forget Floyd fights from when he fought Oscar until he fought Manny are all property of Golden Boy. Just like Top Rank owns old Oscar and Floyd fights when they were still fighting under Top Rank and put them on ESPN as part of his deal.

That means Floyd vs Hatton, Floyd vs Maidana, Floyd vs Oscar, Floyd vs Cotto, ect likely all will be on DAZN

The deal with Golden Boy also will give DAZN access to the roughly 7,000-hour library of Golden Boy's fights, including from De La Hoya's Hall of Fame career. Golden Boy Media and Entertainment also will produce various shoulder programs to complement the live events.
That's a nice perk for DAZN subscribers.

                  • Damn son!!! Cashnelo indeed. DAZN definitely aren't messing around.

I'd like to know where this leaves Eddie. We've got both his fanboys and detractors gloating.

Yeah I get that, but it goes a long way towards legitimising the network to US fight fans, boosting subscribers and increasing profile. Hearn controls a big portion of the DAZN boxing budget, so what’s good for them is going to be good for him in terms of attracting talent.
