Bob Arum is calling for a 50/50 PPV event (after already publicly stating that he would only even entertain the fight once it felt like the fight would do 500k buys), shared by Showtime/FOX and ESPN (note FS1 vs ESPN), with Top Rank having say on everything, with Terence Crawford getting his $3m per fight and Errol Spence Jr owning his own shows.

Would save the hope for something else; Arum's bull****ting and it's obvious.

it's only going to become harder now that networks are
signing promoters (and their entire roster) to exclusive
content deals that last for many years.
      Beauty of public pressure.

Terence Crawford had near zero hype going into his fight on Saturday; had the swing not happened, no one would've been talking about the fight. The fight happened, ESPN tried to sell it as the greatest performance ever, but even they had to ask Crawford about who was next (with Crawford doing his impression of Manny Pacquiao, wanting to fight everyone but leaving whom he fights to his promoter).

Anthony Joshua was on the cusp of a real US invasion; the US boxing scene had finally started paying attention and the Klitschko fight basically started opening the doors up for the general media.

The Wilder talk gets to a fevered pitch, the fallout happens with Joshua looking like he ducked the fight, and Joshua ends up with basically zero coverage for the Povetkin fight (which was another good fight that warranted the attention).

Just imagine what's going to happen when Bob Arum tries to sell Crawford vs Kavaliauskas next.

All interesting fights that Crawford should win. And with the Fox platform, Spence will become a house hold name by 2020. If both remain undefeated and with the addition to other belts, this fight goes to Mayweather vs Pacquiao level.
... why should Haymon send **** to Bob Arum when he's not getting a piece of the ESPN deal and, across Showtime/FOX deals, he's got his own 40-50 dates to fill?

Thurman-Josesito is penciled in, Kenny Porter has made it plainly clear that he's not looking for the Spence fight next so Spence-Ugas will help hold things over. Shawn Porter likely gets his first event where he's the attraction, so Porter-Berto 2 could work. Danny Garcia vs Brandon Rios now seems to be a possibility, and you still have fights like Jamal James vs Luis Collazo to mix in.

Lamont Peterson seems to be frozen out of this round, so yeah, maybe Haymon can lock in money big enough for Peterson to cross the street.

Crawford is basically starved out at this point

I hope this fight does come off, both fighters are known but its not like this is leonard vs hagler it doesnt have to be a 2 years before this fight is made, End of next year should be plenty of time for this to marinate

cant put it all on Bob. EVERY promoter wants to control the promotion.
Can you give a single example of Bob Arum ever voluntarily sending a fighter to go and fight on a rival network?

Derevyanchenko, Elieder Alvarez, Beterbiev, Molina, Felix Diaz, Lamont Peterson, Daniel Jacobs and others have all been guided towards getting the best opportunity for them, regardless of where that took the fight.

              Look at the WBO rankings
              1. Custio Calyton
              2. Egidijus Kavaliauskas
              3. Jessie Vargas
              4. Adrien Broner
              5. Giovanni Santillan
              6. Luis Alberto Veron
              7. Roberto Arriaza
              8. Mikka Shonena
              9. Kerman Lejarraga
              10. Jeff Horn
              11. Kudratillo Abdukakhorov
              12. Rashidi Ellis
              13. Karen Chukhadzhyan
              14. Jose Benavidez
              15. Keita Obara
He's going to fight the #2 guy at some point in the early spring (likely March), and hope that Horn looks good enough in a Mundine win (fight's in November) to warrant a rematch of their fight.

After that, to close out the year... Rashidi Ellis?

Bud wants it, Arum wants it.
                lol.

-ESPN is going to put on their first PPV.
-Errol Spence Jr has his own promotional company staging his fights (though working closely with co-promoters)
-Errol Spence brings more actual money to his events than Crawford does, and Arum is calling for "very fair terms".

                Why lie to yourself

TC only fights the best of the best. Look, he just ko'd a professional boxer's brother. This ATG Bud disposed of in 12, was coming off wins against the 448th and 343rd ranked welterweights. I wanna see Spence fight a top prospect's crippled brother! But no, he's too busy avoiding everyone. He even fought in freaking England, just so people wouldn't notice he was fighting another tomato can.

I'm right with ya, brother. Spence has 24 pro fights. And he has yet to face one junior high gym teacher. Why is Haymon moving him along so slowly? Is Spence ever going to step up the competition and fight an Indongo? What about a cripple? How about Lundy?

I mean, Canelo has six brothers, all of them pro boxers. And Spence hasn't fought one of them? Why not? Spence is terrified, it is obvious. Don't pay any attention to these haters, keep doing your thing, Sweet Cheeks
WBC WBA IBF alt this isn’t personal.

You tell that droopy faced no resume having coward to fight Bud. Spence’s resume is trash and he doesn’t belong on the pfp list. You go tell him that you shivering, carbs eating cupcake shaped opposite of genius ass wart.
